As part of this study, you will be required to participate in the following assessments:
Transvaginal ultrasounds:
Transvaginal ultrasound is a test used to look at your uterus, ovaries, tubes, cervix, and pelvic
area. Transvaginal means across or through the vagina. The ultrasound probe will be placed
inside the vagina during the test.
Gynaecological physical exam:
The gynaecological exam will happen at your screening appointment only. This will be one of a
number of assessments conducted at this appointment. Please consult your study consent
form for details of the other assessments being undertaken.
The medical practitioner conducting your screening appointment will ask another staff member
from CMAX to sit in the room whilst this exam is conducted. You may also ask a friend or family
member to accompany you for support.
Cervical screening test:
At your screening appointment, you may be provided with a collection kit for a self-collection for
Cervical screening (similar to a Pap-smear test). Not all participants will require a Cervical
Screening Test (CST), the practitioner conducting your screening appointment will let you know
if you will require this test. You will require a CST depending on when you last received one and
your HPV vaccination status, please consult the Consent form for this study for further
information. This testing is being conducted to confirm that you are healthy.
Depending on your HPV vaccination status and the timing of your last Cervical Screening Test
(CST), you may require a CST for this study. This test is conducted to confirm that you are
healthy. The practitioner conducting your screening appointment will let you know if you require
this test. If you do, you will be provided with a collection kit for a self-collection for the CST
(similar to a Pap-smear test). Please consult the Consent Form for this study for further
information.
